Today is ecofemmag’s one year anniversary, and I’m thrilled to be writing about this joyous event! This entrepreneurial journey has been a tremendous learning process, and a year filled with ups and downs. I have found my passion, and been struggling to figure out how to remain passionate in the midst of being overwhelmed.
Being an entrepreneur is like being on a wild, wild ride. And I wouldn’t want it any other way.
Now that we’re a year old, I want to circle back to why I started doing this in the first place, and why I keep on doing it. And I want to share with you what I’ve learned so far.
Firstly, I’m here for Mother Earth. She is everything to me. She gives us life, she sustains us, she cares for our every single need. It’s my prerogative in life to bask in her glory every single day, although not always in the same way. I’ll usually hop on my bicycle with my 2.5-year-old daughter and have a full-on love session with the trees, cows, ducks, geese, and goats we encounter along the way. Sometimes, on an extra busy day, it may mean I pop into a city park and sit there for a few minutes to recharge. It helps me refocus my perspective in life and business, it allows me to be centered, and it recharges me for whatever’s next on the agenda.
Self-care, to me, is the foundation of my life. It’s an ever-evolving process and it changes and shifts as I get older. I’ve noticed over the years, that if I don’t take care of myself when I’m working, I end up depleting my energy, and that’s not what I’m about. I go through periods where I’m “too busy” to walk in nature. But after a short while I realize how unproductive I become and how I don’t feel like myself. I’ll be working more and achieving less. In order to run a conscious business, I need to feel at my absolute, very best.
Another huge reason why I do what I do is because I love you. I love you. You who are reading this love letter, you who knows deep down that you’re meant to do something great, and that you’re meant to serve our beloved planet in your own unique way. And that there are simple (that doesn’t mean easy) things we can do to relieve our Mama from some of the stresses humanity has put on her. You’re not in it for the money, you’re in it for Her, and your colleagues, that are doing similar things. And you love working together with your peers in whichever way you can. They inspire you and you inspire them.
Honestly, I’m thrilled to be doing what I’m doing. To be interviewing people from around the globe for the ecofemmag podcast. People who are changing the world in big and small ways. I admire every single one of you. It moves me to tears while I write this. I am so impressed with humanity every single day. There’s so much good in the world, so many people inspiring change. And people who are not out ‘changing the world’ but are living the best lives they can, and are living sustainably without writing about it. Them too. Their high vibrations are what is needed in the world. People who think differently and are authentic and inspire those around them.
You are the future. And I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I’m here for you. Please let me know what you would like to see more of. Or less of. How can I serve you on your path in life and business and service? I admire you and your path. I want to learn from you and get to know you on a deeper level.
From my green heart to yours,
